Too close to now, yesterday just fades
churned and spun by recollection.
I watch words falling all around us
floating out and gliding on the promise of a moment
one by one they end their flight
in forgotten lawns somewhere piled high.
I've seen what's left of crumbling faces
I recognize that twist and fall.
Can't refuse my need to keep
it coming on until
there is no backwards history
nothing in a memory
a hunger I create and feed
till you feel free.
Two feet; a road
legs tightly wrapped in reasons why.
Take myself to somewhere, locked
away from right and wrong.
This fear of mine; a slow beast moving in
on my deviant flesh.
I taste the remains of wreckage
and I know what it means.

Your use of imagery is definitely amazing. I really liked it, and can't think of anything to constructively criticize.

Well Done!
I love the imagery in this. I think that you did such a great job instilling emotion and the senses. I would love to hear the back story to this poem because it definitely paints a very interesting picture. What is your fear and are you running from it or towards it?

This is a very resonante piece and I like the strong images that come across, the first two lines really bring home the poems title. the repetition of some of the words helps bring the atmosphere of the poem to the forefront.
The last stanza is lovely I like the imagery of deviant flesh and tasting the remains of wreckage - well done xxx
