Be Still My Love
©copyright 2004 Bonita M Quesinberry
Ssssh. Be still, my love, be still.
You fight against your own will.
Quietly now, listen to your heart,
for a lie it never will impart.
Softly, too, feel the trembling within,
for it whispers of more than friend.
Calmly see the raging blaze and earthquakes
destroy,
shallow emotions played like a cheap toy.
Only a steady flame endures, can’t you see?
Be still, my love, see the friend is thee.
Tenderly feel the warm glow within,
a sensuous breeze after stormy wind.
Ssssh. Be still, my love, be still,
give in to that loving will.

Stillness should be our hallmark, this poem has a most calming effect...as if it portrays the very thing of which it involves...lots of love
