mothers' legacy

she arrived at ellis island
belongings thrown overboard
save for one chest
near drowned in a storm at sea
escaping hungary (run/flee)
  raped
            by her father-in-law

                  |

neighbor boy
threatened suicide
and she married him
    (cave/fall)
50+ years married
fatal heart attack at 72
six months later
          another woman moved in

                |

another neighbor boy
sparkling blue eyes /ice/
pregnant [bastard child]
bruises-beatings-threats-guns
28 years to divorce
          (hide/pretend)

                |

  the Baby, the Bitch
rescued from psycho father at 16
willingly walked straight into chains
shackled by six kids
    who were shackled by her
while he spent his days
playing the bachelor
under the guise of “work”
but that was okay
[as long as she was in charge]
                    (control/manipulate)

              |

now it’s my turn to wonder
  what will i leave behind?

Your words truly do speak out.
They are effective in showing the way that this can pass through generations and more than one suffers, the cycle continues

Thank you for entering my contest and good luck
