My Heart, His Prayer...

Sometimes I'm so weak,
  silent with no words.
I open my mouth,
  only to sputter a "Help!"
So am I in my overwhelming state-
a deer on a busy highway.

Then He comes to sift my spirit,
like a Reader in a library.
He pages through desires and needs;
His interest is fraught with desire to seek,
      to know.

I know He is after me,
to know me and my anxieties.
My groanings are His prayers.
My want is His answer.
So is my life to Him:
  an open book.
      burning incense.

My heart is His call.
It beats and He comes.

Author notes

"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God."-Romans 8:26-27

What a cruel God He would be if He wouldn't act on our behalf, just because we couldn't find the words.

Yet He requires no such thing, because He knows our frame-how we are much like dust. Sometimes I'm so dumbstruck by my times that I can't find the words to say to the Lord. It seems His Spirit searches me to see what I need, through my groanings, maybe(?) After all, He is omniscient to the infinite degree.

Just as He knows me, He knows His will, which is my need. The Spirit of God prays to the Father, which means since it's according to God's will, the Spirit always receives an affirmative answer, and I get what I need.

As you can see, that truth provokes in me words of my own, praising Him and encouraging anyone who also has similar needs as mine.

As words begets truth, our needful existence begets the will of the Lord. He responds to who we are. He meets us where we're at.

Now, I leave to weep in gratitude.

Please tell me what you think

A wonderful prayer and praise showing how Jesus will mediate for us when we don't know what to say. God will understand and be there for us.
