Speaking so softly
Whispering
Waiting
Wanting
All under a sad faced moon
Where you cried wolf
Tears dripping into my fur
As the fey folk hummed a lonely tune
Something woeful this way seeks
the widowed old washer woman
Remembering old dreams while washing
Hollow regrets falling with bitter tears
Looking in vain amongst the watercress and leeks
She did not see us go
Washing and washing as the sun rose
and the day grew hotter
Dreaming lonely dreams on the banks of the river
As the wolf left with her daughter

Like a Fairy Tale.
I loved the imagery in this poem. The old washer woman...the images and the sad moon. What a wonderful write. It kinda reminded me of a Fairy Tale. I loved this one!

Bravo!
