With a scream of protest
and an exasperated puff;
Steam billows outwards
to paint the blue sky
with clouds of white.
Then with a grumble
Like a peal of thunder
the train begins to move;
Thudding across each plank
in a timeless easeful rhythm.
It chases away morning blues
As the steam train rides onwards.
and an exasperated puff;
Steam billows outwards
to paint the blue sky
with clouds of white.
Then with a grumble
Like a peal of thunder
the train begins to move;
Thudding across each plank
in a timeless easeful rhythm.
It chases away morning blues
As the steam train rides onwards.
Author notes
I have so many different styles, themes, and categories to choose from I thought I would instead just write whatever came to me and see if you like the style of my writing. This one is based on a restored steam train that is in the area, I hope this conveys the sort of experience such a sight gives a person.

Little Brother,
What a wonderful read this one is! I love it! There is something about trains, and steam engines and such! Great job!
Best of luck in this contest!
