Let your lips travel my skin, oh forbidden lover mine,
Like yesterday, yesteryear
Let roaming fingers hitchhike my flesh, my roads open for you
As kisses fall like rain
Let your lips erase thoughts from my mind,
Banish these doubts from my heart,
For a moment with you is forever,
Even when moments should be spent
With the one waiting for me at home
Or with your Someone far off, away.
Let it be known that we are not perfect,
But together less imperfect, less flawed
And though we are apart
Let us be together, for now,
Right now...
A message is on my machine.
"Where are you? We'll be late..
Hope you're home soon..
Love you."
Ignored.

Being as I have been in a situation like this I can completely relate to this piece of art. Thank you for entering my contest.

The joys of an illicit affair are indeed wondrous but mobile phones make them all too easy - how I hark back to the days of having to slip out of the house to find a callbox................

Ah, yeah, I bet that time was an interesting time to live in. You can't find a telephone booth anywhere anymore.
And not EVERYONE has a cell phone, believe me, I've experienced the intense need of a phone and not having one to use before. Thank you for the review.

i... umm.. just wow! you expressed such realistic passion and romance. i want to hear more about these people! the love, the tenderness, the sexuality, it all melts together so perfectly.

Oh, and FYI: Un-Faith-Full is also about these two people.

Thanks for the review, BA. I liked writing this poem, especially after it'd been such a long time since I produced anything worth reading (in my opinion).

It's nice, but I don't like the subject matter. I don't approve of infidelity and it's funny how Infidelity is always so damn sexual. Which is another thing I don't approve of. A relationship being solely about sex. A relationship solely on sex is bound to be good for like the first few hard-ons then it's bound to fail.
Humans, they just can't be grateful for what they have. They have to get is somewhere else through means of cheating. They can't just have the courage of telling the truth.
Pathetic.
Not the poem. Haha! People who have the nerve to do that.

Yeah, I know. Though I happen to think that it's unrealistic to expect humans as a whole to be monogamous. I mean, just look at our divorce and 'cheating' rates (in the US, at least). It's crazy. I wholeheartedly believe in being faithful and loyal to those you've committed yourself to, but I also don't believe that the average person can be monogamous for the rest of their life if they get married at 25. Thanks for the awesome review!

Yea, I agree it depends on the person and their situation. BUT, if you want other things in life such as a different mate, you should at least have the courage to break it off with the current one. Show some respect for yourself and the person you once or probably still have feelings for.

I wholly agree with that sentiment.
