If Only I Could Hold You This Day

Tears stream down my face,
as we speak of the sorrows you feel.
And if  it were possible
I would embrace you this day
and help you find life so real.

We all have sorrows weighing us down,
and often we feel so lonely
and sit alone  without a sound.
But honey there is nothing
in this great big world today,
that can take that young person
inside you away.

When you carry your sorrows around,
they wont let you fly or make a sound.
To hold them forever makes today  like yesterday,
and you drag them along with you refusing to play.

Like a little rag doll the child holds by one arm,
the new has worn off
but to her she is still got that charm.
Those button eyes not as bright as they were,
but honey that child still embraces her babydoll
with the bouncy curls.
Sometimes we drag our inner self around
like that little rag doll you see,
If only we would embrace her today
the love of  life within we could bring back indeed.

Now today I want you to know
she still holds your hands,
she still smiles from heaven
and her wings helps her stand.
She watches and waits
for she knows honey that one day,
you and her once again in heaven
will together again play.

So today I want you to look ahead
and say a prayer today,
know that God truly can help you
find a better way.
He will show you such magic
and help you fly once more,
for the heart holds love forever
and thats for sure.

Sometimes as we become adults,
we have to get after ourselves.
Say self ,don't you think its about time,
to get off old miseries shelf.

Get yourself fixed up
and get back into the world,
and be the mama you planned on being
for your little girl.
Know your prince is waiting
for it's happened to many before you,
and honey don't give up on life
because of what's happened to you.

Reach out and make it better
it is yours for the taking you see.
for life is not what has been
but what is before us indeed.
Every day is a brand new day
and you are brand new as well,
so get yourself up and out
and you can help yourself.

Be that person you wished for for so long,
show the love and strength within.
and find your way out of that hell,
and baby live once again.
