Faded marks of nurturing
showing humanness.

Your eyes look upon the youth
in admiration.
Failing to notice tears falling
for no satisfaction comes,
from just a woman.

Baring a soul that has been
forgotten and lost,
in imperfections.

    I enjoyed this piece. although I think there could be a more fitting word then battle scars, I feel that it take away from your first stanza which is quite powerful. Imperfections are beautiful but only if that person truly believes so.... I respect your work here... thanks for sharing

    I wonder why is it that some can give so much as others just take. Or could it be that we learn afterwards. The mistakes already having crushed any chance of true love. You words just brought these thoughts to this old mans mind & memories.

    the line lost in imperfections really grabs the reader at the end because in truth everything ends due to imperfections. great work

    Ahhhhh so true. The one with loving eyes sees that perfection, not the marks or battle scars, that one peers into the very heart and see the depth of the soul. Very soft and tender. thanks so much for sharing. Lovely word description.
