That Old Thing Back

I just want that old thing back
That old feeling
That old rhyme.
That feeling of going out of my mind.
Just to feel that way again.

I just want things
The simple way they used to be.
Want you and me,
To find that rhythm
We had back in the day.
Want you to look at me in that way
You used to do.

I just want that old swagger back,
That strut I had with you by my side.
Lost in transition
I don’t know what to do with myself.
I miss the way we used to be.

I just want that old flame back,
The kiss that would ignite a spark
In my soul, whenever we touched,
It was beautiful and painful
At the same time,
Cause I would ache so to be closer to you.

I just want that old thing back
That old feeling
That old thing…
That love that was real
That thing that was nothing but the truth.

I just want that old thing back.
That old thing
That  we used to represent.
I just wanna call you
And let you know it’s cool to come home.
And when I get in touch with you,
All I wanna know is
When can I expect you?

So we can make that old thing
Something new,
Better, stronger than that old thing
We had.
That thing that didn’t last.

Want you to make me forget about
That old thing we had.
Replace it with all the things we lacked.
But as of now,
All  can hope for
Is that old thing back.

Damn, I just want that old thing back.

So true and very hard and painful sometimes, it gets worse a lot inside, the emptiness and everything, it's like being numb too, missing yesterday...

Aww very nice. Your words really speak of the longing one feels when a relationship goes wrong. Well done
