My Muse is indescribable;
because I've never seen him,
or is it a 'her'
with a very gruff voice?
He plays on my age
and taunts me with what
I think are memories of
my siblingless childhood.
Sends me scampering after Google,
in an effort to discover about
the war-service in WWI of my father,
who died when I was only three.
Yes! I'm a baby-boomer
from World War One.

It almost seems like "who am i" a riddle in a way - it was conversational and and interesting take on transitions, muses are funny things, mine's been missing for quite awhile...probably on vacation...
thanks so much for sharing. -

Da dove in Italia viene?
Sono stato in Italia durante la seconda guerrs mondiale con L'Esercito
Britannico, e da allora l'ho visitato diverse volte. -

No problem, it was a great poem.
I'm actually from America, but I am half Italian. I always put different places of location on my AP profile, they're more places I'd like to visit than where I'm from, haha. I don't know how to speak the language, quite sorry.

Thoughtfully written...
You are a booming rarity these days, although they say WWII was really just an extension of WWI - anyway, your muse's poem speaks on a reflective note, thank you for sharing your story with us. I'm wishing you all the best in the contest!!
Peace always, xx Cyn

A fine write, I'm sure I'm a lady, not that you care, but I thought I'd throw it in.

I suppose I could answer:
"I care not for your gender, show me the gifts you bring me"
Incidently, was there ever a male muse?
Thankyou, yet again, for your very complimentary comments, and for your most generous applause.

what do you mean by male muse?

I should've googled that question about whether there were any male Muses, because, when I did, this is what I found!
"Yes, the sons of the Muses, were "male Muses."
The most famous are Hymenaeus god of wedding hymns, and Linos god of the funeral dirge."
As I have to attend a funeral during the oncoming week, perhaps I should see if Linos has any eulogistic advice to offer for the occasion.
Thankyou for your continuing interest in what I write and for your very complimentary comments and most generous applause.
Best wishes from 'down-under'.
