There’s something magical
About the way you move
It’s your body in motion
As you create that groove
In the ice, you fly
At lightning speed
With such a beautiful face,
It’s your body I read
Your shoulders hunched forward
With determination
The beads of sweat fall
As you chase with frustration
You launch yourself forward,
Your skates leave the ice
Your arm extends far
With your stick, your device
You hit just a piece
But that’s just enough
The opposition you chase
Loses control of the puck
The crowd erupts
Your ears fill with cheers
The adrenaline pumps
Your muscles sear
You crash into the boards
As the buzzer rings
Your teammates surround you
You’ve earned your wings.

haha, maybe it's because it's early and i'm hungover, but if you read this poem in a different frame of mind, it has ridiculous sexual overtones...

Loved the poem and how it seemed to go perfect with the picture. Also love the screen name "GeorgiaRain." Just saw the name on a poem I just commented on and figure I would do the same. You may enjoy my "rain" poems which is on a list titled: Rain.
