The pain wells up and I will it away
Save it for later, for another day
Now is a moment where I must stay strong
Right now there are people who need help along
People I love, who would stay strong for me
No matter what my problems happened to be
They'd stay at my side and they wouldn't be weak
No matter their pain and no matter how bleak
So I clench my teeth hard and I force a big smile
Promising to let it out in a while
When I am alone, and no one's there to see
Right now, I can't let my emotions run free
I hope this will pass, and that it will pass soon
Though I know to misfortune we are not immune
No one is, everyone has their own lot to bear
I am not the only one battling despair
Times like this when everythings out of control
I think the ground's solid, then step in a hole
Times like this are the hardest, but they shall pass too
Though things might change, we can make it through
We're together, and we are stronger than we know
And the best things can happen the lower we go
The sadness can make us appreciate life
No matter the heartache, the pain, and the strife

really, really relate
that is me - you are talking just to me - I related to every line, perhaps not the upbeak end lines, but that is just because I am in a dark place. REally liked the lines:
"Times like this when everythings out of control
I think the ground's solid, then step in a hole
Times like this are the hardest, but they shall pass too"

There is a Jewish thought that one's face is "Rishus HaRabim" (public domain.) That despite our own hardships, we should put a smile on so that others don't have their spirits dampened by our long faces. That said, we all have to be there for ourselves and give ourselves time to heal and feel good. I think you capture both ideas in this poem.
Probably the main theme in this poem is the idea is "that which does not kill us makes us stronger." I have found this so true and now looking back at experiences in my life have found that I have ability and understanding that I never would have had, had I not gone through some rough times, and that knowledge and ability has allowed me to do things I would never have been able to do. I hope that you will find the same.

I would applaud it six times if I could
This is really good. Dealing with anything depressing is difficult but, this is the first poem that seems to deal with it in more of a healthy way. Not only does it convey a sense of "this too will pass" but, your wording and flow is really well done. A really enjoyable poem full of emotion that you walk the reader through.
