Wanted: Someone like You...

Bottomless pit of wants and needs
seeks someone who bathes, works, and exceeds
expectations, but let's start here on the web
so please attach photo of you and your head
shame to have to mention, but you'd be surprised
how many include photos with their faces disguised
if I can't see your face, I won't know who you are
then how could we meet, we wouldn't get very far
another thing to mention,  while we start to explore
no pictures of just parts, I have seen those before
I'm sure yours are dandy, maybe we'll see in due time
but for now let's not play show me yours/show you mine
why not gather up some words to send in a line
show me some intellect,  some flirting is fine
engage every aspect,  both body and mind
look a little deeper, who knows what you'll find
if you really want to know me, you know what to do
I'm here and I'm waiting for someone like you...

I quite enjoyed this. I liked the humor, it played well, and the rhythm was easy to follow. A good poem that you have written here.

Oh dear oh dear how this reminds me of what just happened to me on Myspace. I have a column about it if you need a laugh. Bad enough when they hide their face, but then when they use an add from a catalog. How stupid do they think we are. Myspace is www.myspace.com/maryjollyzayas by the way.

Seriously awesome write, deserving of a gold trophy indeed and much applause.
The rythm is perfect as is the rhyme and flow and the contents are honest as well as amuzing.
I had to laugh out loud when I reached the portion regarding pictures and show me yours/ I'll show you mine.
This was a delight to read and written with talent and style.
Great job and Best of luck in the contest although I think your talent stands strong.

    That's really good.
"no pictures of just parts, I've seen those before
I'm sure yours are dandy, maybe we'll see in due time
but for now let's not play show me yours/show you mine" I would have to say that's my favorite part of this write. Good luck...

I like it. I hate people who only show pictures of "parts," as you say, online. what's the point if you're not trying to get to know them? Great job.
