Set in stone:
a secret I cannot speak of,
so it burns like acid inside me,
and it shall die with me
alone.
I love you impulsively,
gem stone
smooth and strong and beautiful,
how I long to hold you closer than my world,
and call you mine, all mine! my own!
but how that would alter things,
and once done, cannot be undone,
stepping stone
as if from one place to the other,
I'm glad noone will never have known.
So I must keep myself hugged to myself,
smile and laugh and value my treasures,
a heart of stone,
I must keep despite what I have shown;
though 'tis as hard as stone.

OMG, meg you wrote a poem. And it is also a brilliant one. I love all the different ways you use stone within it. It adds something, almost, a sense of something being many things.
Keep writing,
Holly.
