Praying for an Angel
way over yonder
I sing in a field of roses, dance amongst petals' bloom
All for naught, as I feel, without my love, for whom:
I feel I'd exchange it all, for her caress.
When I kneel down and look to these flowers
I see each a myriad of colors, veins, stemming from a heart of pollen
See how their roots have sunk into the ground
appreciate every living detail
...All for naught, these petals bloom
Without my love, I fear my doom...
Each within these petals, a heart of pollen
And my, what a wonderful scent, intoxicating, purely joyous
Laughing with the angels that surround me with silky robes
To frolic amongst the flowers...
...All for naught, these petals bloom
Without my love, I fear fading soon...
So, I look to myself, look to my decisions
compare the wonders of the Skies, to the morning dew on leaves
Demons shake and shatter the ground beneath... perfect holes for seeds
this utopia is mine to keep, and feel
... All for naught, these petals bloom
Without love in my arms, ravishing her womb...
And I discover there is secret meaning here indeed;
I should never let things go.. never forget joys or sorrows.
These are the things that brought me closer to my love
And each of these flowers will be ravished by bees
To spread their beauty and worth across fields to come...
... Though the bees, some, so mindless, they do frighten me...
... For all their worth, these petals bloom
They'll grow in splendor and beauty's boon...
Confusion racks at my mind, without fail, though...
The very earth that bestows these flowers
Bestows the rules that keep my love away
Bestow the beauty, the sorrow, the love, the madness, that keeps me at bay
I prey to the angels with wings... to free me soon
I pray to the demons to ease my hunger
But most of all I pray to my own love... the holder of my heart
As I never seem to be complete, onwards always recklessly under Time's strain
To open arms, and let me approach, Or come back to me soon...
For her beauty is all, her wings and her lust...
Her heart is all meaning, her soul is robust
I pray that I'll be with her soon...
And show her to this place, where petals bloom...
