Burning sand underneath my feet..
stinging like a thousand bees,
and one single knife
with an edge of hope in my heart.
I watch the Sun glow above me
as I lack a halo and a direction to follow.
It's all just a fire in my soul -
how can I resist you?
With a sigh escaping my dry lips
I search for bittersweet love
to kill my thirst for excitement
and the curse of boredom.
Exhausting, sinful thoughts..
A heart so tired yet still beating for emotion.
Oh, how I wish you could stop wasting
all those seeds by planting them
in this endless wasteland of a desert.
Oh, how I wish..
that you could just lay all your love on me
and realize that I am..
...your Oasis.

holy cow.
This is amazing. Your imagery made me feel like I was there, feeling it, experiencing it, trying to say the right words. It's so sad and heartbreaking, and I loved how you made me feel it and understand it.
Thanks for the great write and all the best in the contest!
