Lying in bed all alone late at night
The sounds on the TV murmur in the background
The actors speak and the screen flickers
But her eyes don’t move an inch
Her eyes staring at the ceiling
The duvet wrapped up around her
A single tear falls from her cheek
And in her head, she imagines the different situations
She wonders what it’s be like
What it’d be like
To just be his friend
And for that statement to be genuine
She doesn’t imagine
Lying in his arms
Him whispering “I love you”
Into her ear and then slowly kissing her
She imagines him teaching her
How to play pool
And then him beating her
But she still protesting that she won
She pictures dragging him bowling
Them competing like their lives depend on it
Her winning
And boasting about it never getting boring
She snuggles down and hides under the cover
Fighting the urge to cry
She wonders if they’ll be one day in the future
Where people can accept he’s in her life but ONLY as a friend.

Awww I can relate to this myself all too well sweetie, it's horrible when you don't get the emotiosn shared by someone else. Hell, I'm always in that situation I swear.

This is so touching to me at least,
very well written, I love it.
Love it.
That is all I can say really...
