Game’s over

No more

Rushing home after dinner out
To find you sleepy after waiting
Lunch break spent online
Only to play and lose again
Corny laughs and crazy faces
Inanities that make me smile
Agreeing and pretending
It’s OK that you’re with her
Wishful thinking
You’d be beside me when I wake up

Game’s over.

There never were you
There never was me
We were pawns
Life’s game played out
In front of us
We lost
You’re gone
I’m still here

Game’s over.

    WoW... ams

I thought it was a beautiful write.

    A poetic expression
    from a betrayed lover.

I think this piece is an example to all those who cannot handle heartbreaks the way it should be. People who can handle spoilt love well can love better, I think...

    Excellent write.... Keep writing...
It will be interesting to see what you think about my poems. :)

    Respectfully,
