    Your poetry is quite revealing
Sparse of word, yet rife with feeling
Full of wisdom, full of wit
With a little snake that bites in it.

No snakes here, but little pac man guys,
munching away. Using the image reminds
me of a professor conducting a class in
      self-hynpnosis (early 80s) telling how
he used the process to defeat his
cancer, also visulaizing little pac men
devouring the bad cells. What the
      mind conceives...

      Hi, Stacy1

It's the adventure, exploring a new writer,
well, new, if it is the first time encountered.

      Words are more deeply interpreted
when that is all one has from which to learn!

      Nice to see you here.
I enjoyed the unique take on situations
that I discovered on your page!

this piece is so simple and so beautiful..paintings and poems both constructed with such elegant choices of words and lines..if i had to pick a favorite part, it would be this.."Soul prying soul
    revealing
    essence the goal"
Your gentility and your grace shine through in all you write Aesthete..i am glad to know you.

The "prying" part---rather what we do
as we read the work of another,
      taking out our "line openers"
to pop the cap, the lid, the meaning.

Ah, C-J, thank you for the "shine through."
Equally happy to have found the green letters
on the page as well as the ever-changing avatar!!!

  • It is amazing what you learn from others over the net..Interesting enough is that we do get a real sense of the person to whom we are communicating with. Out of the abundance of the heart does the mouth speak....or fingers type....after all our hearts are the engine in which all our facilities are controlled. Spiritually speaking that is....

Yes, we listen with our eyes
as the words speak fromn the page,
      the heart surely revealed!

The inquiring mind has a veritable
playground from which to learn here!

      Thanks for the insight, Troy.

  • Yes, an interesting connection you have made. I've often wondered about the internet phenomena and the "small world" it creates. People can attain this sort of interaction you describe like never before... except there is not the "face value" and I wonder what role that plays in the soul to soul connection. Years ago, people communicated via letter over periods of months, today the net over seconds. The connection is certain, and more instant, yet somehow i'm not sure if the connection is as "real" or not. People can and do become whoever they want to be over the net. So you often connect with their wanna be self which is not a true connection. I don't know... your poem made me wonder again about these things... as you see from the rambling, I've nowhere near decided what i think! But the poem was well done. I like the "short takes" at the beginning. Spare words but big thoughts... and the conclusion is one that only our generation (so far) can come to. It's a thing of wonder, for sure! Lots to think about. Beautifully done.

      As to making a decision,
it appears that is best handled
case by case, person by person, perhaps.
In the format here there is so much more
to rely on, poetic words, fictional tales,
discussion back and forth to find the
      reality inside each contributor.

As to "real," the persons we know best,
that we chat with each day, know as much
of our day to day acrivities, how we feel,
how much we have to accomplish as
those down the street, our nearby
      friends and family. We depend
      upon our intuition, for life
      is all about perception!

      Thank you for sharing thoughts!

a friend from the Betty board

Your vocabulary is varied and interesting and you utilise it in an unconventional way, which makes me really enjoy reading your stuff.

'cross land to sea to land

This is my favourite line, as it in the most unconventional and interesting, what with the contraction and repetition and all.

Great stuff- thank you very much, I love it!

      Hey, Mr Id!

Thank you for the careful read.
I rather liked that line, too.

To reach our circle of friends here
      we cross over many boundaries,
      continents and seas, sometimes
      crisscrossing multiple times
      as we carry on simultaneous
      conversations!

              The experience should be fun,
as I see it, at least enjoyable.
              While we may have concern
how our words appear as printable,
when we enter a piece on the page,
we can be less formal, or even abnormal
when we exchange replies more fun than sage!!

Sorry I didn't reply in turn- I have worked today (be it only 3 hours) and I have written a lot of prose and poetry (by my standards), so I am all creativitied out!

I've found a lot of humanity in internet conversation. I've found a lot in the silence between the conversations.

It can indeed be devouring. There are poets here, you are one, who I can swallow large amounts of their words, meanings, and sensibilities.

The internet is a great thing, it's all that society is, all the good, all the bad, and all the gray areas. People like you, and hopefully me, strive for the good, spit out the bad.

I really like how you've included an acrostic poem within in the graphics to make this piece a "twofer".

Modern means of communication have erased lines that we formerly stood on or behind. It still amazes me when I think about the geographics locations of all the people are that I've met through the internet.

      Hi, pix!

When I created the "towers" piece on my front page
I imagined how far apart, yet how near we can be,
not only cross country but across the sea!

I was still playing with the two "smiley" faces, as in
devouring content, mind inside mind, just adding
      them at the end.

I can remember grade school, a "pen pal" in Europe---
      thought that was so exciting!

Glad you liked the "LINES" graphic. Had the darnedest time getting it to scan.

Thanks for stopping in and sharing thoughts!
