I am concerned
In a vulnerable state.
I wait to breathe
Again.
I wait in anxious silence
Tension coiled in my body
Posed to strike
Unannounced at those most
Unsuspecting.
I am so conflicted.
Pain is the only slumber
I close my eyes to.
I wish for things
That are no good to me
Wishing for you
Is starting to cripple me.
I've lost my grip
On the leash I'd choked
Around this disturbing feeling.
Loving you is wrong
Yet I have so much of it,
As if it could justify it to be right.
Release me from my prison
Or if not imprison me within
The confinement of your arms.
I dream of the moment
When we can be free
To love openly.
Instead of simply
Vulnerably.
Still I wait.

Powerful and very touching, somehow this is for all of us, a truthful write for the endlessly aching hearts...

Dark, almost haunting.
I'm sorry that your love is so taboo, but you've used it to inspire a terribly saddening poem. Powerful.
