Again This Dawn

(Exodus c.20; Deuteronomy c.5)

Another glorious Friday You've made, Father,
this Sabbath eve; skies clear and sun warm.
I remembered Your words giving understanding
when again this dawn I woke in tears:
"Thou grieveth, like a mourning dove on the mountain,
for those left in cities filled with fears.
They refused to obey My Word; and, they should have
when ye spoke to prevent deadly harm."

Oh, thank you so much, Lord, for sharing that wisdom,
and more, the one who sought to find me:
she whom I've just met though I have never seen her.
She said, "I spoke to God about you;
and, He said to me, 'She is favored of the Lord.'"
Oh, how merciful to hear this, too;
a soothing balm healing each of my battle wounds;
for soon, Jesus lifts me up to Thee.

Father, this handmaiden is humbled by Your Love,
that You would choose this unworthy Eve,
then bless me with such great responsibility:
to reveal Your mysteries so true,
as well as to teach all Your Law, that some might live.
Oh, how I weep, for there are so few.
Alas, most turn away; others argue Your Word,
contrarily claiming to believe.

In all things, good and bad, I praise my loving God;
praise and give all the glory to You:
for I'm nothing without You, merely pitiful;
yet with You, I am all things and more.
Praise you, Father; Amen in Christ's name: You are God!
You love me, just for keeping Your score!
And I know I love God, for His Law I obey.
It's vile to break even one or two.

      Thank YOU, Zhanis, for accepting my poetic vision into your contest. With so many great poets here at A/P, your job of judging will be a tough one; so, good wishes for that task.

      Luv & hugs, BonnieQ

      Thank you, darling brother! Sorry I did not get back online until almost 10pm. The burning eyes turned to pain in the back of my eyes. It has eased up . . . Oh, well! I will live!

      Much luv & hugs, SisBon

    You can lead them to water.....

    The decision must be made freely, but most don't understand. To believe is easy, but to obey is difficult for most. The easy way seems so nice and the rocky path to the lord so hard, but the end result is no comparison. This is another fine prayer/poem, that our father is surely proud of, just as he,and I, are of you! The Shaker

      As always, thank you, my darling Bubba, for continuing to uplift and encourage me. Actually, I find man's easy way to be the rocky way full of pitfalls and potholes yet God's way the smooth yet narrow way that man attempts to make difficult.

      Tons of luv & hugs, SisBon

    Wow

    This blew me away, He really does love us like that...so often satan wants the believers to feel alone and deserted by the suffering or threat of it to come in some fashion, but when someone loves another, really will they soon be forgetting them...I just love this in entirety....Wow.

      Indeed, my Sistah, God is GOOD! Everytime I begin to feel as though I'm getting nowhere and no one is listening, muchless heeding, and I begin to feel as though I stand alone, the Holy Spirit brings a message or someone or both to reassure me. Each time, it's as though He lifts me up, gives me a quick hug, then sends me on my way again. Praise the Lord!

      The person I mention in this poem is one of our Sistahs! She had seen some of my work over at Authors' Den, paid for a lifetime basic membership without my awareness, then looked and searched until she had my phone number. She called that same day I had awakened "Again This Dawn," wanting to know how to obtain two of the Biblical books and to say she had spoken to our Lord. At the moment, I do not recall the State in which she lives but it is in the East. At any rate, that would be sistah Gloria Vaughn!

      Thank you so much, dearest one, for your continued encouragement!

      Much luv & hugs, SisBon
