With her hills all dressed in green
The robin treats us to his song
As spring arrives on the scene
The sky again is spread with blue
Smiling sunbeams greet each hour
White clouds drift by,oh so serene
As spring unfolds like a flower
Awake with life the woods and fields
Spill over with creatures brand new
The world once more a busy place
As spring's fullness burst into view
I join the awakening of the earth
The song of it sings to my soul
Worldly cares seems so far away
As Spring in my heart takes control

your poems seem very nice and in any event it is an enormous accomplishment to write 1000 poems much less post them somewhere!!! and obviously you have taken great attention in the presentation (format, background materials surrounding etc.) congratulations
-
though spring is here it has still been a little nippy here i think, mind you where i live it always seems to be the case! i am waiting for the days to get warmer, but it is nice to know winter is over and spring is finally here, a good poem celebrating the rebirth season.

I really like the graphic, it held my eyes for quite some time.
we have an apricot tree that is in full blossom when none of our other fruit trees are. I hope it doesn't get nipped by frost it isn't even March yet so I know winter can't be over ... well, we'll see. -
Hi, such a pretty poem, yes I think fickle spring might just be around the corner, lovely write my friend, hugs Di

-
Should the word be fields?
"Awake with life the woods and field"
I really love this and REALLY can't wait until spring comes!!!
And then I can't wait until spring, summer, and fall pass so I can get to February of next year when he comes home!
(by the way, this is Bunnybabe89 from before)
Great poem and I'm happy to be back on the site from before. I missed reading yours and others poetry.

I am so looking forward to Spring; "Smiling sunbeams greet each hour"that I know for sure. By reading this poem, I also knew these words would lift my doldrums. That is exactly what happened. It seems the winter has lasted far too long already but I know that Spring is just around the bend and that makes me glow from inside out. Beautiful work here dear Susan. I wish you well in the challenge.
Much Love Always ♥
Renee

no contest
No contestment from me! This is a lovely poem; you've really sharpend your skill with this style. That is, keeping the sentence length just right, relying on metaphor and judacious use of imagery sparing use of words. BOLwtP

“Earth's morning calls to us once again
The sky again is spread with blue
Awake with life the woods and field
As spring's fullness burst into view
I join the awakening of the earth
With her hills all dressed in green
The song of it sings to my soul
As spring arrives on the scene”

Very nice
"As spring's fullness burst into view" if you add 's' to bursts
it keeps the poem in the same tense.

-
A beautiful poem that applauds the re-birth of Spring and everything that emanates from it. I wish you a happy healthy Spring.

-

Dear Molly,
You paint a most delightful scene
of coming growth and Spring
but, in NZ our Spring has been
and Summer's on the wing.
In fact we had ten lovely days
of heat and cloudless skies
when girls in bright bikinis lazed
before my very eyes.
But now it's turned to cold and grey
the girls have left the beach
and, though I look there every day
there's none within my reach.
Please send some global warming here
so we can have our Summer
'coz rain at this time of the year
and wintry cold's a bummer!
Your poem warmed my heart though. I guess the sun is still there somewhere, if only the overcast sky would let it through.
Applause for your beaut entry, hope you're feeling better.
Good luck in the voting, love and hugs, XXX Hugh (R.) Da,
