I felt as though someone had reached inside me and scooped out my soul
Removing that part of me which made me who I really am, making me whole
That's my soul
Oh my soul.
They could have removed my heart, then I would not feel
It's been broken broken, betrayed, crushed no big deal
But my soul
Oh my soul.
Why didn't they take my brain, rid me of my every thought
I wouldn't have to think about what I've done or what I ought
Why my soul
Oh my soul.
They should have taken my stomach, removed my appetite
Of course that would be helpful, making my abs tight
But my soul
Oh my soul.
Why not take away all of my senses; taste, feel, sight, smell, hear
Not to have my senses would rob me of those things I hold so dear
Why my soul
Oh my soul.

An interesting take on the prompt...I really like your first 2 verses especially.
The emotion portrayed in losing ones soul is expressed well.
Very well done.
