With fragile button-cap
Fleshy short stem
Born on paddy-straw
-
Even mighty Caesar
Feared if he was fatal
Author notes
Mushrooms - I used to wonder at this short-lived fruiting bodies for their peculiar nature... the gills, cap, stem and their life make me think where do they come from overnight...where do they go vanished overnight... I am, in here, talking about only the edible mushrooms and not the fatal ones... one more thing I wondered at is the widest classification of mushroom... GOD, I want one more brain to remember and understand all those come in the list...
The story about Caesar, who had a food taster to taste mushrooms before he tastes just to make sure that they are not fatal, interested me a lot and Just wanted to pen something on that story...
Thanks again!

wow this is nice. I liked the idea that created it. Most people of that time period had food tasters. That was because a lot of them were poisoned by various people who wanted their power. Good write.

How immensely grasping. A story told in poetic stature and poise. well thought out... x

The title itself is very interesting. As if I am going to read a poem about biological science, I prepared my mind. Very interesting. Keep penning, sissy.
