you made me a promise,
a promise of "never"
but "never" came way to soon,
only a few short months-
only a few cherished lessons
taught and learned,
only a few cherished memories made,
that i play back daily-
only a few cherished dreams made,
but never realized-
this is not what i thought
it would be-
i had visions of us-
growing old together
and holding each other
every night,
i had visions of raising
a family with you,
walking through life
hand in hand-
but "never"
got a whole new meaning
when the angels said
"it's your turn-
you're needed in heaven,
come- take your place
as a guardian angel"

This made me sad. Outstanding job. My; your way with words. This is so beautifull, yet so filled with sorrow. I thought that this was a story about infidelity. Never did I suspect whwt was to happen next. This is what I mean when I say that you are such an easy read. You keep my attention so well. you make me read your works twice, to look for ahidden meaning. This helps me with my work. Thank you for writing this.

i love this piece,
because it is simply sweet as can be.
but i love it even more because it comes from
a very sweet heart. i have read so many of your poems over the last few years and i know your story well, my heart aches so much for your loss of this person that you cared and loved. it seems as if the pain will never go away. this is a beautiful piece of poetry that has your loving heart in every word. always remember that i am here for you, ready to share some tears if need be.

I can see this loss still effects very deeply, as it would, love cut short tragically is always hard to accept and can take a long time for the pain to fade, just remember love and memories are carried with you and the impact the person had on you makes you who you are today. Excellent write.
