I was laying in my bed one day,
wasn't feeling too good
so I was resting they say.
When all of a sudden
out on my porch I saw,
A little squirrel playing in a Christmas tree
against the wall.
I set up in bed
and watched with glee,
and all of a sudden that little squirrel
was watching me.
He got up on the window seal
and made a heck of a chattering noise,
as if to say I have to play here
I don't have any other choice.
You see my porch was all closed in,
and I realy didn't know how he was getting in.
I asked a friend how to catch a squirrel,
and he commence to tell me and a story unfurled.
First you get a pan of water
and the top layer freeze it good,
Then with an ice pick,
pick a small hole in it pretty good.
When the aquirrel comes
to get a drink you know,
then just kick him in the ice hole.

Thank you
Thank you for taking time to enter my contest! This made me laugh. I can picture the little squirrel laughing... I've had a squirrel chatter at me like he was mocking me before--perhaps that is part of my fascination with the little critters!
Good luck in the contest!

Yes, he did get you on that one!

you put an open jar of PB in a wire trap cage. did I ever tell you of the time the sisters were harping on me as a junior to follow 'tradition' and cook for the convent aka the senior sisters? I went through all the cookbooks and found a recipe, something like squirrel jumbulya, and went to request the main ingredient telling them I was going to cook for them. the main ingredient was 6 disjointed squirrels. they stopped pestering me about cooking after that. I really had them going, and what an act I put on, all seriously excited and whatnot - it really put them off

Oh we have had all kinds of squirls get in our house. the neighborhood is rampant with them. I had many a dent in my old car from the squirrels throwing nuts at me and hitting my car when I would come home or leave. Thanks for the laugh Patty

I grew up with Squirrels being around, eating nuts and dropping the shells on me. We had a Black Walnut Tree in our back yard and one in the front yard. My Mother used to call them "You little dickens" She was always sweeping the sidwalk where the Squirrels would sit on a limb and drop the broken shells on the ground and sidewalk. Cute write Stories.
