My dear Little Angel
What will become of you?
You are my gorgeous niece
I love you through and through.
Each time when we're together
We're talking without words
And on the floor we play
Like lovely little birds.
Sometimes you don’t feel happy
You miss your Mom and Dad
Or maybe you are tired
And need to go to bed.
You cry! All I can do then
Is take you in my arms
And when I notice your big smile
You touch me with your charms.
I love you Little Angel
Though only two years old
Once you'll be a handsome lady
Elegant, with a heart of gold.

First I thought you had a niece, but never mind, this is one of the most delightful poems written about children as any reader will agree, the rhyme and flow is so effortless and I like the tone it is written in, just for a child, and that is IMPORTANT in poetry writing. Many do not undertand this and may use words and phrase structure meant for Doctors of Literature!!!
