Curious…

*

new hearts beat steady with
unsullied strength

rhythm enduring
new, faster
exciting times

times worked hard
until
you cannot work

yet

as years crowd together
moments slip
between beats
summarily

life’s alacrity excels
while
reversing its homogeneous equities

i am
humbly,

most patiently
left wondering

is anyone truly missed
when eternity
slips between

two beats

    Yes.

Yes they are if any of the beats is living. We miss our friends and family a lot once they are gone from us.

well you ask a fascinating question, is anyone truly missed?

i like how this can be taken two ways; do we truly miss anyone through absence or is it even possible to miss someone because so much of them stays with us, or in fact they do stay with us in some form ...

    an ambitious and thoughtful piece

    thanks

    Jack Donne asserted
Ask not for whom the bells toll, they toll for thee. I had a near death, appendicitus, and I didn't really care in the moment, myself it hurt so bad. Can it be our duty, to know those around us enough to miss them when they are gone?
Been missing you. Hope all is well. Come see me. you are at least 20% of the proof I am not just chatting up weemins on this place.http://allpoetry.com/poem/4987207

      Aw...

but the living miss just you when we are gone
where we will miss them all when it is our turn.

It is such an important question, it was dealt with in scripture. Rev 21:4 Says there will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, no more fears, he will wipe away the tears, death will be no more, for the old things have passed away. I think those tears are both universal, and specific to the afterlife pain of missing those in our lives who could not find the faith to connect to creator.http://bible.cc/revelation/21-4.htm

    Yes.

Yes they are, especially when missed by those who knew them personally. Sometimes when you do not personally know a person but because they were who they were in time and space.

      But it fades

and the more current people become the better remembered. But I do understand your perspective and agree from that point. Thanks Judy, for reading and your always looked forward to comment.
