The deceit glowed in his eyes,
a fake warmth; that would eventually
be the bait I would take.
Invisible lies slithered
through the cracks of his crooked smile,
while I sat, the misled prey; lured by trance.
He dangled illusive hopes of happiness
over my head waiting patiently
to strike. Venom will soon immobilize me,
and he’ll swallow me whole.
Please tell me what you think

Wow. I have so felt like that before. That was absolutely amazing, and you did a fantastic job writing this.
Write on.

Yep, that's about the way it goes...

We see what we "want to see" at first glance. Then try to convince
ourselves that what we thought we saw is real and others
"just don't know him". Then one day denial vanishes and we see
what is "really there" and wonder why they "changed", when they never
did at all, but it was rather our own warped first glance that got us in
trouble in the first place...lol
