Fling

And this is the way
My paintbrush flings
Whoosh!
Bam!
Zing!
Watch the colors as they sway

Lasso of vibrant dreams
As the acrylics glean

A Pollock fiasco
Can’t stop the flow

Hues, hints, tints and overtones
Blender puree of tender hormones

Now these elements to infuse
Ah, there you are my muse

Wallowing in your vivacious shades
My sketchy heart erases and fades

Consumed in your oily essence
Charred by your charcoal presence

This flame broiled heart lies in abstract atrophy

Though I wear you on my skin
The coating is but paper thin

Lo I love as much as I lust
The paint shall dry and turn to dust

Thus brings the artist’s cold and cruel irony

Now the cycle is complete
Rising again to my feet

Alas, it is indeed murder in the wings
Behold the intricate art of a fling.

its so dark.. its beautiful and dark i think that this poem expresses to the core the darkness that lingers just below the surface of all our skins..
