It has been a while ...

Moments pass and I wonder where the days have gone
Where the snow of this winter now resides
The sun has arrived to warm us
I can feel the summer haze already setting in
You the lot of drunken fools swim in it
Like fish basking in the light
mermaids moving with the flow
But I wish for a reality that was a beauteous as the days now passed
of friendships dug deep into the earth
now uprooted
of mindless hours spent in bed
making love
making bonds
making salves to heal our wounds
making moments to reside in our memories forever
It has been a while since the sun has shown his face
Since he has glittered brightly in all his glory
So now we dream of sandy beaches and hot summer spells

It has been a while since ive had anyone to share this with

It has been a while since ive had company

and I wonder....

where have you all gone?

and I realize I have been bundled in my cacoon
and it is now that I burst out
now that I rip open the seams and take my first breath
take my first steps into this new life

It has been a while. . .
Since I last spred my wings
It has been a while
It has been a while
It has been a while

But now the wait is over
I have broken through the surface
I have erupted changed and alive

It has been a while and will be a while, as I walk the road of this new journey
Won't you take some time. . .
and walk with me for a while
just for a little.........
  while

Author notes

As human being we morph with time, we evolve. This change is as inevitable as death and so I relish in the beauty of it and ask my loved ones to share in it with me before the next cycle begins....
