Quaffed

Thus, your love is the fermented wine of my essence,

and embodies my spirit to imbibe of its nectar.

I am quaffed as I taste the luster of your lips

and inhale the ambrosia of your desire.

  • Very imbibing...LOL but really, JUST BEAUTIFUL

  • What

a great write! I had to look up this word for myself as I used to know it, haven't seen it in a long while & had thought it meant the opposite! Congrats on the Bronze & on such a deep expression of love.

archaic as hell. "rich" isn't exactly what i'd describe your use of vocabulary as...sounds like you're just trying too hard; interesting words are good to throw in, but you need to have mortar to hold it all together.

Your rich use of voucabulary (contest inspired, or otherwise) is one of the most wonderful things about your beautiful poetry. And this piece is no exception. I love the way this begins with what would appear to be an ending. "Thus..." Very clever, girl! What a powerful, emotional punch is thrown at the reader, here. Another masterpiece, my friend! Bravo!

    Wow!

Well, I must say, Queenie, you certainly make good use of the word prompt and did it exceedingly well. Now, surely that means this poem will take the GOLD and it should!

    Much luv & hugs, BonnieQ
