Dido

Loved twice, left twice
Your fears proven true
All your faith in mankind
Sailing far from you
Dido
Spurned lover, full of anger, like Medea
In madness you slip your neck into Jocasta's lead
Were it modern times, headlines would read:
Carnage in Carthage Leaves Country Bereaved
It's not the only tale with a woman brought low by lost love:
Jason, Odysseus, Aenas, whorish travelers on the breeze
You can only hope that, with love stories gone so wrong,
Such sailors meet a bad end at the siren's song

Please tell me what you think

Thank you for reading. It seems like I'm writing to myself sometimes, which gets alarming when my self starts writing back. ^_^
