Dark Rooms

I stand lost alone within the darkness
In the cold hallways of my heart

Looking out at life just slipping by
Unable to step out and take part

Winds blow clouds of emotion through
The the empty rooms of my soul

Looking for the path that I lost
Not knowing which way to go

Yet still I hunger to see the light
To feel once more the fire's heat

To reach out and once more to love
From the dark and lost's souls retreat

Please tell me what you think

    Words From The Heart

Your words reach deep within my own heart. Loving someone not with us can become very dark and lonely at times. How to move on and let go when the feelings run so deep is hard to do at times. I do believe there are those who come in our heart and never leave. The way it has to be sometimes. You do get me rambling on John. This was so so sad yet full of love. Sounds very familiar. Very few poems bring me tears, but yours do. Love and Blessings John. Sandy

Ahh, John, it's out there. You don't want to settle for just anything or anyone, so keep the chin up and know that your Lady is lingering out there waiting for you to find her.
I know the feelings you've written all too well- been there before.
