An army of nothing marching
on an endless parching sand,
hands tied behind my back
in defiance of my living lies,
can I not just defenestrate
spiraling lullabies, chiming
in my own decaying ears?
A squatter’s pointless tenancy
in this dreary concrete foxhole,
lazy days paint pointless years,
I am Saddam, Satan, Jesus,
a pestilence, a Calamity Jane
with weapons of mass inflection,
selling an ideal to the obtuse.
Where is my mother, my father
to hold my trembling hands,
all I see is the grinning faces
of the men who are in command,
ensnared in sleepless containment
because I never pledged allegiance
To a united state of inhumanity.

Thank You!!
Thank You for Your entry: A Box Of Treason (For A Moral Reason)
This piece tugged hard at Spirit and after reading several times ~ I'm Honored also Humbled You took the time to pen for my contest
You took the prompt and ran with it~ Bravo!!

When I digest words written, images come through that grab hard~
Woven Strengths: Now this is quite the unique piece for I inhaled several times and kept being pulled to the line: A squatter's pointless tenancy
and for some reason- I kept being shown as if a sane person (sane deemed by the psychiatric community) but then exposure to inhumane treatment supposedly by brethren- those who are supposed to treat others with Respect- are denied
amenities- like Life- reason for Living- stripped bare to bone through emotional torture- exposed to physical environment- [war-brutality-genocide] and also line: hands tied behind my back- I'm being shown like a full circle with the arrow at the
end- showing it continuous~ and a skull also cross bones if cycle not broken
Hopefully this makes sense
Powerful verse and message You have brought forth

These words grabbed and pulled~
ensnared in sleepless containment
because I never pledged allegiance
To a united state of inhumanity.
Vivid Imagery poured in these lines...
Thank You for sharing Your Heart also Voice
also best wishes to You in the contest Sweet Soul
**Judging will be done shortly...
Many blessings too
with much love and light~ Desire~*~

Thank you. This piece is very much about war, torture and all the inhumane things that are done and can be done, often for nothing more than money, resources, power. In the end, all wars are futile wars and all mistreatment of people, whether we think they 'deserve it' or not is wrong, because if we go down the route of maltreating someone for what they have done, we are truly no worse than they are, as we would just be using our own justifications for doing exactly what they have done themselves.
