~Melting In Love~

I once caught sunlight stretch its arms
To steal crimson hues from a garden of roses.
The other time, I caught it stealing the greenery of forests.
Once, I woke up even before dawn
Only to find the first sunray steal moonshine.
Now, I am pretty much sure…
Where the white of snow goes when it melts!
But why does it melt at all?

Sunlight stretches its arms to embrace
The snow dressed up in bridal white.
The snow surrenders to the warmth
Of love, that eventually transports the former
Onto an ethereal dancing floor
So that it may dance with rapture
In the floodlight of soulful ecstasy
To celebrate the moment of
Its spiritual awakening...

So now, you even know
~Why the white of snow goes when it melts~

It’s not about snow. It’s about love.

Some lovely visuals here and a wonderful spiritual quality about it. I very much liked the idea of "love transports the former" - it's always there, just in a different form and shape - and yes, it renews the giver.

I would delete the last two lines as I think the first 2 stanzas shows us where snow/love goes, but that is just my opinion . All in all, I think you know where it goes!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts this way, Sophie!

Thanks Nicolette! Thanks for your sincere feedback on my work! I feel your opinion regarding the last two lines is worth considering. I do plan to revise this poem some day.
