No matter what I do, it's never enough
I say I'm sorry, but it's meaningless and stupid
It hurts when I can't give you what you need
One step forward, then take two steps back

Each time I think I've won, I've lost
Your mind is made up and I can't do anything
Nothing stops me from thinking its too late
One step forward, then take two steps back

Bring your sharp blade closer...I dare you to
The crimson waves flow...yet you do nothing
Do you love my pain?...ignore me as usual
You say you care?... then actually do something

My tears will forever remain undried and flow
Make me suffer some more; I'm used to it now
There's nothing you can say to fix the damage
One step forward, then take two steps back

This is my hurtful and tearful goodbye to you
Hope your life isn't a living hell like mine has been
I'll always miss you and a part of me will always love you

this is directed towards who decided to be an ass and leave me; never will I see him again. oh well though. I've been hurt so much what do I care?

    I really like this; more imagery and metaphor would have made it all better. But you have a lot of emotion in this. Thanks for entering this into my contest and good luck.

      i promise you ryan i'm fine. glad you enjoyed this piece. i based it off of Not Meant To Be by theory of a deadman. one of my favorite songs besides nickelback.

    oh megan, this was a great poem. you'll get over "him" i know you will. it just takes some time. But in the meantime, don't let it get you down. This was a very good poem, i really liked it. keep writing. lol i almost spelled kep. wow. ok
