Violet Moodswing

Verily amid the
Indigenous trappings of the
Over abundance of
Lace and leering,
Emotion sets its own spiral
Trapped to snap and spin.

Mundane or musing in
Olive or glorious grapes
Of wrath to writhing, the
Drapes are pulled and
Swept aside to
Will the light of day
Into not so darkness.
Neutralize the speculation and
Gladness returns.

Tell me, is violet light or dark, or not? I like the shade of purple that is this background, I hope that's violet, because then my favourite[ish] colour will get a name.

As for the poem, 'Into not so darkness.' is mt favourite piece.
I am not keen on free verse type things yet, but, believe me, I'm trying =)

so true of a poet though the flaws lie within you they are never tarnished or set out in bold and the violet in us all is so merrily described here, cheeky, open and yet so deep for a moments look into your mind

    The Purple rules all colours

An acrostic well with your namesake colour but of course... Nice imagery you have painted alluring in 'lace and leering' exposing some of you within the lines an snap shot perhaps. Very nicely penned. Good luck in the contest. for the return of gladness

Lots of feeling in this poem. I like 'Trapped to snap and spin'. We all feel this way at times.

Well done & best of luck to you!
