Yep, That's Me

So you want to know who I am
Well that's so easy, you see
I'm an adult older woman
With one son who lives with me

I like to write poetry
Also read it when I can
Especially about Nature
So many areas to span

I no longer work outside my home
I have other things to do
Writing is one of them
Keep tabs on family and friends like you

I'm late in starting my diet
I vowed to do on January 1st
About the only thing that's a diet
Is my soda when I have a thirst

I'm usually easy going
Happy most of the time
I'm satisfied with my life
Writing poetry that's usually rhyme

I love animals, I like to tease little birds
By whistling and trying to chirp like them
Sometimes I get a scolding not knowing what I said
Once in awhile I'm visited by a lovely little wren

I used to dance the Polka
The Waltz is a favorite too
But that was years ago
I couldn't do it anymore,can you

I love to bake most everything
Cookies are a favorite of mine
I used to bake for so many folks
Now I don't know if I'd find the time

I love all kinds of music
Operettas are so neat
Country music fills my heart
With that certain beat

Well I could go on and on
But that would take up all my time
Beside you know enough about me
And it is all told in rhyme

      I don't know how I missed your comment, but I did. Thank you for your kind comment. I am not young in age, but in Mind, heart and spirit. I'll be 75 in June. Learn to Polka it's a lively dance and a lot of fun.
