What you see is what you get,
There is no more, nor is there less.
I don't play tricks on wandering eyes;
This, on my heart, your soul can bet.
I promise, no mistruths you'll find
Behind these shallow walls of mine.
If you dig deep for treasures held,
You may strike gold since left behind.
Secrets whispered in your ear
Are carried lightly through the air,
And if you listen for my voice,
Our murky thoughts will broadcast clear.
There is no need for disbelief
When moonshine grants you sweet reprieve.
I'll still watch over, come the dusk,
To see, from heartache, your relief.
No pain, no gain, the critics say,
But we know better, fact remains,
And so I'll hold you through the night
Till warmth returns with promised day.

Just a message to those who've been hurt that friends will always be there. I'm obsessively protective of my friends and I always have a hug waiting!

Great Write! I loved it. Good work. I like the rhyming you choose and it flows nicely. Your a great poet, which I could write like you do.
