Goodnight Now My Little One

Bobby Shafto’s gone to sea
Silver buckles at his knee.
Just where could that little dog be?

All the words swirl in my head
As I tuck you into bed.
I’ve lost count of what I’ve read!

Goodnight now my little one
Just one more as day is done…
A little song, gone the sun.

I like the rhymes. It sounds like a song. It's a really happy poem.

    very sweetly writen

i really enjoyed this and i'm abt the same age as you are. i think the 2d line of the third stanza is a bit awkward, but, i may just be missing something. i like that you kept a consistent rhyme scheme and a consistent meter. the picks on the sides really look lovely also. who's bobby shafto?

    regards
