Who is The Immaculate Conception?

Have you ever met the woman, who from her conception was so pure;
whose love and trust of God forever will endure?

Who from her first conscious thought,
God's will was the only goal she sought.

She of all people of every time and place,
is the only one worthy to be called "full of grace".

Her heart was pierced with a sword of sorrow for her only son;
who by his death and resurrection, salvation for all was won.

Her every act, throughout all the years of her life,
were those of a loving mother and an obedient wife.

Her spouse is the third person of The Holy Trinity;
and though this woman, God sent Jesus down to you and me.

She is known throughout the world, and from the begining of time,
as the vessel through which God sent us the precious bread and wine.

Though some think these are only symbols of God's undying love;
The Catholic Church teaches they are Jesus' body and blood from above.

So when you think about God sending His son from Heaven to us below...
Please don't forget His mother, Mary, from whom graces flow!

Author notes

This poem is not actually new I have it as a column on my page, but I couldn't figure out how to submit it from there.
I was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write it several years ago.(However there are a few minor revisions.)

    I like it but the rhyming could have been improved. It was very unsubtle and at some points rather basic.

    Wonderful. and perfect. I adore this piece.
    Mary is such an inspiration, afterall if she didn't say 'Yes' to God, we wouldn't be here, and we would be lost forever.

    I think this is a lovely piece, and its perfect just as it is. I love its flow, and the way you've written this, its awesome as.
    I was told that there is a group of Christians, that actually hate Mary, and hate the Church, I don't get that, I can't even imagine it, How could people say they love Jesus, but hate his Mother? I think its twisted. Maybe this poem will reach someone who feels that hate and it will save them. Its a wonderful poem, there isn't anything that needs to be changed.

    God bless
