moon dust

i am a doorway
to midnight
and
a thousand years
of hands
not touching
the moon

i hear you
cry
through the trees
in whispers
on wind
and your mouth
silent
alone

i push
back
the curtain
between us
the restless one
that pushes back
and the other
hides hands
in dirt
and dust
i push

  • lovely reply to your chosen prompt, more often than not I get annoyed at the non capitalisation of "I" in possessive references, somehow though it doesn't seem out of place here. strong images and emotion in this piece.

The ageless of the spirit and the finite quality of the man come together to create this song you present to your reader.
    Lovely,

Another incredible piece of penning, dearest Scribe. The first stanza draws your readers in, then the rest of the poem surrounds them like a warm blanket on a cold February evening. Good luck in the contest, my Friend. Wanderer

This poem tells a story to me of a man in love somewhere where he wasn't supposed to go. He hides it very well, and his soul will only tell on him in poems.

    I love this...
Such a perfect voice inspired by the quote...
As I read this, to me, it began as a whisper and gained such power ....like a rolling stone....
I cannot choose my favorite lines...I love every single one...
