Defender of Mankind

wrapped in a blanket
softer than love
with her heart beating, warming
like a glove
expanding new worlds
as far as I can see
I see her twinkling eyes
and her mercy

The love she shows towards me
flows through my body like
the blood through my heart
its everywhere and keeps me warm
day and night
when I am worn

I see her standing there
and all I wonder is what I did wrong
because I can't ever repay her for
her warmth
but she doesn't get to see
the love that I shine back to her
