unawares, the post-bullshit drip
quid pro quo ad hominem
philosophize in repose
free think lest the thought police
arrest ye, have not ye heard
the sirens, howling at the moon
of thoughtcrime like the cheddar
cheese craters of luna
solipsist, can't resist
to merely cast aside
the knowledge of sophia
can't take off
skinner box locks
the nectarized birds
feed and feed
consume and consume
no thoughts except
programmed lies
jesus Nietzschean christ
the Kantagorical imperatives
the study of wisdom
this open-ended,
comprehensivist ascertation
logic and to think of thought
something long forgot
not mere bullshit wrought
as your bullshitism shat
another ignorant turd
of corpuscalent contutions
another closed mind
now thyself, shan't thee
know thyself
the snake laughs a slither
at the fruits of knowledge
rotten to the core,
left unpicked
the worms merely crawl
within
empiricism has the fore,
yet intuitively,
to rationalist, it's more,
this science myth,
its tales are told
above the myths of old. . .
ahriman's machine
has its hold
spiritual alienation
has its hold
only a mere head it is
of the sophiac beast
philosophic
the realignion of religions
is in the region
i am the philosopher king
i can't do anything
the lizard king, he
in his reptilian head
pineal glands a third eye
amend the overman
for man is but a bridge
over an abyss-snake
cantankerous
whose venom swells
i think too much, eh?
you must have
thought so little
to have said
spouting bullshit
of a field
you look at
with all the
pans et circenses
of a football field
woe, woe, to wasted potentials,
all the more, phaedrus, inside of me
i hunger for illuminations,
i reflect deeply,
the answers come meekly
the questions quest evermore
Author notes
Prompt:
Philosophy: 'People ask me if I’ve ever studied philosophy.
My answer is always ‘Why bother, when I can
Spout my own bullshit quite capably, all by myself?’
Quid Pro Quo: The exchange of information for more information.
Ad hominem: To attack a person instead of their arguments. Literally means "against the person."
Nietzsche: a well-known German philosopher.
Kantagorical imperative is a pun off of Kant's (another German philosopher) idea of the categorical imperative.
Sophia: knowledge.
Empiricism: the belief that only the senses allow us to learn or understand anything. It is the philosophic basis of science.
Rationalism: The belief that we have knowledge before sensual experience, and that sensual experience is not the only way in which we can come to understand the world. Think "intuitive."
Philosopher king: an idea from the philosopher Plato.
Phaedrus: one of the characters in a Platonic dialogue. Also the alter-ego of the narrator of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance (it's probably lost on most).
Pans et Circenses: Latin for "food and games." Used to refer to how the Romans forgot about political matters, etc by being distracted by the coliseum and by being given free bread.
Realigion: A portmanteau of real, religion, and align.
Solipsist: Belief that only the self is real. There are different severities and versions of solipsism. It can be an egocentric thing, or a less egocentric kind of thing, and all things between those two extremes.
Overman: refers to Nietzsche's idea of "higher humans." Also known as Ubermensch.

I love the intricacy of this piece, the wording and the ideas that it covers. It is also excellent that an explaination has been added in the Author's Notes for the parts that readers may struggle with.
Thoroughly enjoyable read.
Good write and congrats on gold.
