I knew a woman who
Lived in peaceful innocence,
believed her foundation to be strong and
her ability to repair it's cracks and crevices
unyielding to any type of weather.
She hugged anyone she had known longer than 10 minutes and
she never turned away a needy hand.
Understanding and empathy drove her to care for
the un cared, un caring and un careable.
She believed in silly cliche's such as Once Upon A Time, Happily Ever After and Life Is What You Make Of It.
People were not ever able to shake her cool and their cruelty
would always grab her attention.
Like a wildfire her passion would force any bully into submission and just in case... she had a bad ass husband to back her play.
Respect was expected and readily given, because she readily respected.
She would walk into the room, smile knowingly at her husband and he would smile knowingly back. A seceret that they shared.
Her experiences as a child made her stronger ("they" didn't break her).
Her friends were few but her friendliness was great and no person was ever treated as "less than" when in her presence, those were the ones that needed her strength the most.
She stood like a bright pillar in her family and for anyone who needed saving and nothing nor anybody could extinguish her light... until...
The day when her foundation was fiercely ripped apart.
She would quietly write and cry over her journal/keyboard, continuing to be the strength that her friends and family needed.
Never allowing her broken chunks of life to clutter the vision of her loved ones.
The one's who knew her best never saw it comin...
One day she announced a vacation was in order and carefully packed a few belongings in her little overnight bag.
They had no idea.
The doctors signed her out and wished her well, a list of support groups and a bottle of hope carried her back home.
She returned, happily smiling and full of fantastic stories of a vacation that never happend.
They had no idea.
Sleepless nights and soggy pillowcases ruled her life...still.
But she had to keep up appearances, people in her life depended on her.
Living two lives worked for a while, she would play the part of both well. Both parts were very much all of her.
She loves them to no end and will always be around...
But they will likely have no idea.

This is so good. You painted the pictures of her (your?) two lives so well, and managed to show your feelings on them through the description. I love the beginning, it foreshadows what's coming, but shows the reader that the personality described is a strong one, one that will be able to stand pain, hardship, and come out stronger than when going in. This is really well written. Awesome job!
