Dreams of sweet love inspired me in my youth,
But through long years it never graced my life.
I cursed the day that I first heard the truth,
That man needs love to weather bitter strife.

And prove my pose was just a hollow sham.
Turning cold words into love’s tender sighs,
You transformed me into all that I am.
Silken tresses frame your dear loving face,
Your smiles give all around a subtle glow.
Passion tinged words make my heart start to race,
Thanking the stars for all that I now know.
And so once more I take your hand in mine,
To ask that you be my Sweet Valentine.
