Why can't he understand
how it hurts me deep inside,
when he talks about wanting
to marry me, yet he never really
shows me.
He can talk all he wants, but
are there any meanings behind
those words if there are no
actions to represent them?
He says he wants to spend
his life right here with me,
but what I SEE is a man
who seems bored in the life
we live.
He says he loves me,
and will always love me this way,
but what I HEAR is a man
reciting words, that no longer
have any meaning.
He kisses me when he wants to,
and only when he wants to,
but what I TASTE is the
hidden regret lingering on his lips.
He holds my hand when we are
out somewhere, or in the car,
but the TOUCH I feel is his anxiousness,
to get it over with so he can
pull away.
He brings me a single red rose,
because he thinks it fixes everything,
but all I SMELL are the petals of lies,
as a thorn pricks my finger,
and I bleed for him.

wow i felt bad reading this. im pretty sure if my girlfriend wrote poetry, she would write something like this... I've been saying I want to marry her for 2 years now im just freaked out by the thought of it. great job here, got me thinking about some stuff.

Wow, this is very deep and sad. It's a terrible feeling to be with someone that isn't there for you a hundred percent. When love turns into bitterness and lies it can be very challenging and sometimes devastating. I love these lines:
"He brings me a single red rose,
because he thinks it fixes everything,
but all I SMELL are the petals of lies,
as a thorn pricks my' finger,
and I bleed for him.

Very well done, a great way to poetically show that words are hollow without action. Shows the meaning of you show love not say it. You can feel the confusion for you as you try and figure out his intentions. Your muse is awake.
