November Lily

She floats
alone in the middle
of the lake

The sun is her god
though she wonders
where it is at night

The wind is her friend
though she asks how
to trust the unseen

She plays with the
rain but it hurts to
always see it go

Solitude her
constant company
teaches her to dream

She dances
her way endlessly
to the stars' attention

Until her blossom
catches a lonely eye
and sails to pick her

[It is November but for once
the lake reflects the beauty of Easter
          ...White lily in his hand...]

As she lets his
grip embrace her
as he sails her home

She beams yet wonders:
Will the sun shine at night
in his world?

Author notes

Wow! You rarely post your pieces but whenever you post it is worth the waiting time.

I like the rhetoric sound of this piece.

Is the quote from the book "A love story" by Siegel? Did I spell that correctly or pronounced it right the least? Lol

    P.S.

I am not sure if I've written the correct author.

Hey! So glad to hear from you. Been a while huh.

      Ingat and enjoy lagi.

      joy

this is so beautiful...the imagery that you've set on this poem is very sincere that you've created a powerful setting for love...sa palagay ko mapapanaginipan ko ito...

      joy

      Oh you're too nice, Anna.

You're actually "A flower named Ling." I'll explain it to you one of these days.

      Ingat ka.

I am not sure I should comment as this appears to me to be womans point of view. Total commitment yet always wondering. Is that so? Your AN reminds me that "no man sets foot in the same river twice".

"Total commitment yet always wondering." Ouch! Hahaha. I'm glad that it seemed like a woman thing, that means I'm normal. I didn't notice it though until you told me. I just found myself reflecting on some personal sentiments for both flowers and women--myself included.

Take care of yourself, Bob, and that beautiful flower in your home .

      joy
